So back in college, I don’t know about you, but final projects never resulted in something this awesome!! This just out of one of the hi-tech capitals and one of the best art and design schools in the world, grad students from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Israel are shocking and aweing with their futuristic video about to go viral!! This gives a whole new meaning to user experience.
Two terms come to mind when watching this video phenomenon:
Augmented Reality – where our immediate everyday lives are “augmented” by computer generated sounds, videos, graphics or GPS data.
Gamifacation – the use of game design, game thinking and game mechanics to enhance non-game contexts, such as in real life.
Picture this: waking up to blank walls that can be filled with any application you desire and need. Have a hot date you want to score on? There’s a portable app for that, that you take with you on your date, like your private little wingman, calling the shots as the date goes on.
Your eyes are essentially projectors on a virtual screen that shows up at each life event, as you need it. Want to get out of the restaurant and continue the date quietly at home, no worries, there is an app for that. You just think it, and it’s done.
Probably inspired by Google’s Project Glass, this final project video really touches on what understanding the user experience involves at an extreme level. Each app optimizes the user experience for the very moment that the user is in need for specific information.
We like it, we believe in it, and now we want to share it
